Charcoal is one of the oldest drawing mediums, dating back to prehistoric times. Made from pulverized vine stems and a small amount of oil-free plant-based binder, it offers a rich, opaque black tone. Ideal for sketching and fast, expressive drawing, it creates smooth, soft strokes with easy shading and blending. Due to its delicate nature, fixative is recommended, and sharpening should be done with a knife or sandpaper. The pencil features a 5mm core encased in durable, lacquered Mexican cedar wood.
